"Our very mission is called 'Open Doors' because we believe that
any door is open, anytime and anywhere…to proclaim Christ."
On Tuesday, September 27th, Brother Andrew – the founder of Open Doors International – went home to be with the Lord at the age of 94.
Known to millions as "God's Smuggler," the Dutch evangelist became famous for his daring ministry adventures behind the Iron Curtain at the height of the Cold War. Brother Andrew is remembered as a fearless disciple of Jesus who committed his life to serving his Christian brothers and sisters in places where faith costs the most.
Floyd Brobbel, CEO of The Voice of the Martyrs Canada, stated: "The world has lost a staunch champion for the persecuted church. God called Brother Andrew to set aside his safety and accept the risk of serving Christians in Communist countries by providing Bibles and other resources. Praise God that Brother Andrew's legacy continues. Our thoughts and prayers are with the faithful servants at Open Doors in their commitment to diligently fulfill God's call and strengthen what remains."
Please join us in praising God for Brother Andrew's inspiring leadership and for the lasting legacy of his ministry to persecuted believers around the world. For additional information, please visit BrotherAndrewLegacy.org.
