Two Pastors Stripped, Beaten and Arrested

Karnataka, India According to a November 29 report from Compass Direct, two pastors, C.J. Joemon and C.J. Jojo, and another believer, G. Anil, were stripped, tied to a pole and beaten after a worship service at the Christ Vision Church was raided in the Hassan district of Karnataka on November 25. When police arrived several hours later, they took the Christians to the police station and charged the pastors with forcibly converting Hindus to Christianity. The Christians have reportedly refused to press charges, saying that they have forgiven their attackers.

Pray for a full recovery for those injured in this attack. Pray for endurance to stand firm, despite the opposition. Pray for the continued ministry of Christ's Church in India. Pray for Christian converts throughout India who are facing pressure to renounce their faith in Christ.

Pray for India
Despite the intimidation and violence that have taken place in many of India's states, may Christians wisely yet unashamedly preach the Gospel. Pray that indigenous Christians and foreign missionaries will minister in ways that do not hint at fraudulent conversions, unmasking the intentions behind the anti-conversion legislation. Intercede for India's leaders, that they may reign with justice and righteousness.
