India: Displaced Children of Orissa
India: Displaced Children of Orissa
In August 2008, tens of thousands of Christians in the Kandhamal District of Orissa state, India were forced from their villages by militant Hindus. Dozens of Christians were killed and hundreds of homes and churches were destroyed. Even after more than a year, many of these Christians are still living in tents in refugee camps or have been forced to flee the area. By the grace of God, some of the children from Kandhamal have been taken to another state where they are safe and being cared for by compassionate Christians. When these children arrived, they were traumatized by what they witnessed in their villages and by being separated from their parents, some of whom died in the attacks. Recently a VOM Canada team dropped into visit these children, who are finding healing and peace because of the love and care they are receiving. Listen and see as these young believers worship the Lord!
